关于加强国际学生学风建设的通知

学风是学生对待学习这个问题上的思想态度和行为表现,学风通过目标、态度、纪律、方法、兴趣、效果等具体地反映出来。为切实加强我校国际学生的学风建设,引导广大国际学生端正学习态度,明确学习目的,激发国际学生学习的积极性和主动性,积极营造“学在地大”“严在地大”的氛围。国际教育学院将国际学生的学风纳入国际学生评优评先体系,通过加强课堂教学纪律与管理,加大培养过程监控力度,搭建学术交流平台等措施,营造良好的学风,培养严谨求实的科学精神,提高国际学生培养质量,打造“留学地大”品牌。

加强课堂教学管理与监督,促进优良学风的形成。国际学生必须服从学校管理制度规定,刻苦学习,不荒废学业,不迟到早退,不缺课旷课。留管教师和兼职辅导员定期开展巡查,核查课堂考勤,并针对学生存在的不良课堂行为进行劝止和引导,落实校纪校规和上课纪律。同时,留管老师和兼职辅导员针对无故缺勤、迟到等学生要做好记录和教育工作。对于屡教不改的学生,根据《中国地质大学学生纪律处分办法》中违反教育教学规定处分的相关规定,视情节严重给予警告直至开除学籍处分。

加大培养过程督察的力度,完善国际学生培养环节的管理机制。国际学生必须按照培养计划进度完成相应时段的学习要求。根据《中国地质大学国际学生学业预警管理办法》的有关规定,国际教育学院将在每学期考试课程成绩登录结束后,依据各学院培养方案中的有关要求,对国际学生已修学分、是否按期开题、是否按期进入学位论文撰写阶段等进行全面清查并记录,对全体国际学生各阶段的学习情况、与导师团队融入情况进行通报,对可能无法顺利完成学业的学生予以学业预警。国际学生的学风与其评优评先紧密结合,如每学年内,收到2次以上学业预警,国际教育学院将考虑取消其评优评先资格。对于各类奖学金生,其学业表现将作为年度奖学金评审的重要依据。

搭建学术交流平台,实施激励制度,营造浓厚学术氛围。通过开展系列有效的学术交流活动,树立典型,营造争先创优的学习氛围。国际学生须积极参加《丝路讲坛》、《丝路博士公益课堂》和专业相关的学术讲座,兼职辅导员对学术讲座进行考勤检查。对于积极参加学术讲座的国际学生,在后续的评奖、评优过程中予以优先考虑。实施激励制度,对发表国际SCI学术论文的国际学生,国际教育学院将根据学校有关规定,给予国际学生和导师奖励。

请国际学生自觉遵守校纪校规,积极配合老师和兼职辅导员,扎实推进学风建设工作,创造良好的学术科研氛围和人才培养环境。

 

                            

                                                                                              


Academic atmosphere and discipline contribute to the development of a proper mindset, attitude and behaviour of students on the issue of learning. It is specifically reflected through students’ study goals, attitudes, disciplines, methods, interests, effects, etc. As such, International Education College of China University of Geosciences (CUG) is committed to enhancing the academic atmosphere and discipline, guiding students to form a positive attitude towards learning, clarifying the purpose of learning and improving their enthusiasm and initiative for study, thus creating a sound and strict environment for international students.


International student’s academic atmosphere and discipline have been included in the scholarship assessment and evaluation system. By strengthening classroom teaching discipline and management, intensifying the monitoring and management of education process, setting up an academic exchange platform, International Education College is striving to shape a good academic atmosphere and discipline for students, which helps foster a precise and factualistic spirit, improve the education quality of international students and eventually consolidate the brand of “Study in CUG”.


International Education College will work harder to strengthen the classroom teaching management and supervision to build good academic atmosphere and discipline. International students must obey the management regulation of university, study hard and are not allowed to be late, leave early or be absent from school. Staff from the International Students’ Affairs Office and tutors will regularly check class attendance, take actions when inappropriate classroom behavior happens, and implement university discipline and classroom discipline. Meanwhile, staff from the International Students’ Affairs Office and tutors should make records and educate students who are absent or late for no reasons. Students who fail to regulate their behaviors after several rounds of tutorial talks, shall be given a warning or even be expelled from university for violating the provisions of education and teaching in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Disciplinary Measures for Students of CUG.


International Education College will step up efforts to strengthen the supervision of education process and improve the management mechanism of international students’ cultivation. International students must fulfill the study requirements for the corresponding period according to the study plan. According to the relevant provisions of Regulations on Academic Warning of International Students from CUG, after scores of each semester's courses are submitted, International Education College will have an all-round check on the actual credits obtained by students, and see if there is anyone who fails to do the dissertation proposal or to write the dissertation on time, according to the relevant requirements of the study plan of all faculties. Meanwhile, International Education College will report students’ learning performance in every stage and their cooperation with supervisors. Academic warnings will be given to students who may not be able to complete their studies as planned. International students’ academic atmosphere and discipline are closely related to the assessment of excellence and award. If students receive more than two academic warnings each academic year, International Education College will consider cancelling the qualification for the assessment of excellence and award. For all types of scholarship students, their academic performance will be considered as an important reference for annual scholarship review.  


International Education College will build a good academic exchange platform and implement a motivation system for a better academic atmosphere. Through a series of effective academic exchange activities, International Education College should set up a typical model and create a sound study environment for students to strive for excellence. International students should actively participate in the Silk Road Forum, Silk Road Public Class for doctoral students and other professional academic lectures. Tutors should check the attendance of academic lectures. For international students who actively participate in academic lectures, priority should be given to them in the personal assessment for awarding. As for the motivation system, International Education College will award international students and supervisors for publishing international SCI academic papers in accordance with the relevant provisions of CUG.


For all International students, please abide by CUG’ rules and regulations, actively cooperate with teachers and tutors to firmly build a good academic atmosphere and discipline, and create a good environment for academic research and talents training.
