Dr. Fayez Harash, originally from Syria, is an internationally engaged geophysicist, academic researcher,whose career integrates advanced Earth science research, university teaching, cross-continental academic cooperation, international media engagement, and scientific diplomacy. With more than twelve years of continuous academic residence and professional activity in the People’s Republic of China, he is widely regarded as a distinguished international alumnus of the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and a scholar capable of bridging science, culture, and international relations.
Fayez Harash（中文名：扬子） 博士来自叙利亚，是地球物理学家、学术研究者。他的职业生涯融合了先进的地球科学研究、大学教学、跨大陆学术合作、国际媒体互动以及科学外交。他在中国连续从事学术研究和专业活动已逾十二年，是我校优秀国际校友，是一位连接科学、文化与国际关系的学者。
Dr. Harash earned both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees with Honors from the College of Geophysics and Geomatics at the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). His academic specialization lies in magnetic and gravity methods, satellite-based geophysical data analysis, and deep Earth structure investigations. His graduate and doctoral research focused on the crustal and upper-mantle structure, Curie Point Depth estimation, heat-flow calculation, and geothermal resource assessment, with major applications in the Eastern Mediterranean and other tectonically complex regions, contributing to the integration of deep geophysical observations with regional tectonic interpretation.
扬子博士成功获得中国地质大学（武汉）地球物理与地球信息学院理学硕士及博士学位。其研究涵盖磁法与重力法、卫星地球物理数据分析及深部地球构造研究领域。中国政法大学博士后工作期间，他专注于地壳与上地幔结构研究、居里点深度估算、热流计算及地热资源评估，主要研究成果应用于东地中海等构造复杂区域，推动了深部地球物理观测与区域构造解释的深度融合。
Dr. Harash is currently serving as a Research Collaborator at the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) in Beijing, where he is actively involved in interdisciplinary academic activities linking natural sciences with public policy, international law, and academic diplomacy. This role reflects his long-standing engagement at the intersection of scientific research and international affairs and highlights his ability to operate within strategically sensitive academic environments that connect science with governance and global dialogue.

Academically, Dr. Harash has served as a Faculty Lecturer at Damascus University and as a Geophysical Lecturer and Consultant at the Syrian Ministry of Petroleum, where he taught applied magnetic and gravity methods and contributed to subsurface exploration and geophysical consultancy projects. His academic career is complemented by earlier field engineering experience in the oil and gas sector, which enabled him to combine theoretical research with practical, decision-oriented applications and to develop a comprehensive understanding of technical and strategic processes in Earth science and energy-related projects.
扬子博士也担任叙利亚大马士革大学教员，并在叙利亚石油部担任顾问。他不仅讲授应用磁法与重力法课程，还参与了地下勘探及地球物理咨询项目。其学术生涯与石油天然气行业的实地工程经验相辅相成，这种双重背景使他能够将理论研究与实践决策相结合，从而对地球科学及能源相关项目的技术与战略流程形成了全面认知。
Dr. Harash is fluent in Arabic (native), English, and Mandarin Chinese。Since 2013, Dr. Harash has played an active and sustained role in strengthening academic and cultural relations between Syria and China, supporting academic exchange initiatives, assisting Syrian students and researchers in China, and participating in meetings and forums that advance scientific and educational diplomacy. He is widely regarded as a trusted and credible informal representative of the Syrian academic community in China and a capable bridge between institutions, cultures, and national contexts.
扬子博士精通阿拉伯语（母语）、英语和普通话。自2013年起，扬子博士始终积极致力于加强叙利亚与中国之间的学术文化交流，不仅支持各类学术交流项目，还为在华叙利亚学生和科研人员提供帮助，并参与推动科学教育外交的各类会议论坛。他被视为叙利亚学术界在中国的民间代表之一，是连接不同机构、文化与国家背景的桥梁。
