（1）Applicants must complete CSC online application in advance. The deadline for receiving paper application materials is April 20.

(2) The applicants must fill in the information in CSC website correctly and the attachment must be uploaded completely. The information on CSC application form needs to be correct and complete. Since the admissions office will contact the applicants, applicants must ensure that the contact address and email address is accurate. (Admissions office will use the permanent address to send Admission Notice and e-mail, make sure that the information is accurate).

(3) Please refer to http://iec.cug.edu.cn/ for the detailed application requirement and information. If there’s any further question, you can contact the admission office by e-mail via overseas@cug.edu.cn and the subject should be 2018 CSC scholarship application.

(4) The applicants should carefully read the language and academic requirements of each major on “Catalog for International Students Master Candidates of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)” and “Catalog for International Students Doctoral Candidates of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)”. Those whose native language is English can be exempted from submitting relevant English language certificate requirements. International students who have TOEFL / IELTS, HSK Level 4, Level 5, Level 6 certificates and international students who have published 1-2 academic papers are welcomed to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship.

(5) Applicants need to contact with the professors/ Supervisors of CUG in advance. Remember do not send group mail, the e-mail sent to the professors needs to be informative, including personal introduction, language foundation, research plan, application reason and other information. The professors will review the applicants according to the professional foundation, language ability and academic ability, and issue the "acceptance letter" to the qualified students. This letter only serves as the professors’ approval of the academic ability of students and it does not serve as a proof of winning the scholarship. The letter is also required to be submitted as an attachment to the CSC application web site.

(6) After you send the application materials, there is no need to contact by phone or email to inquire whether the materials have been received or not. The admissions office will arrange the received application materials on a regularly and download the student application materials from the CSC website. The applicants must make sure that the mailing materials and CSC online application materials are complete. Incomplete materials will be considered invalid application.

(7) From 2018, the length of major study for master degree is 3 years and for doctoral degree is 4 years. Students who apply for Chinese taught program but have not obtained HSK Level 4 or above or does not meet the language requirements of the professor, need to add 1 year of Chinese tutoring time. Applicants should choose the majors according to the Master and PHD Program Guide. Those who choose the major that CUG does not offer will be considered invalid application.

(8) Non-native English applicants who apply English-taught programs must submit TOFEL/IELTS certificate

(9) The diploma and transcript in the application materials must be notarized (in Chinese or English). One of the two letters of recommendation should come from the professor/teacher of the university with the highest diploma and the recommender’s signature and email needs to be provided in order for verification.

(10) All applicants should read the Master and PHD Program Guide carefully and confirm the research field with the supervisor. According to the regulation of CSC, once been admitted, students cannot change the university.

(11) All application materials are subject to rigorous examination by CUG. If any cheating or fraud is found, the qualification for applying for Chinese Government Scholarship will be cancelled immediately and permanently.

(12) There is no application fee for Chinese government scholarship of CUG. It is forbidden for any personal or intermediary agency to charge fees from the applicants or scholarship winners, please inform the CUG admissions office if you found any of those cases.
